Cheese Boutique

Leading up to the annual Festival of Chefs, Cheese Boutique sent me to the particpating chefs' restaurants to do delicious reviews.

"Proprietor and personality Patrick McMurray proved he inherited the Irish gift of gab when he pulled up a seat beside us and chatted about his love of cheese, philosophy of food and his new venture, The Ceili Cottage."

Canoe

"Boasting a fabulous view of Toronto, the backdrop of the harbour serves as a feast for the eyes (why should mouths have all the fun). Luckily we had clear weather and were able to thoroughly enjoy the scenery of the harbour scattered with snowy accents."

Mistura

"Sitting unassumingly on Dupont between Bedford and Avenue Road is Mistura. An elegant establishment, open only for dinner, it offers a warm and intimate atmosphere that was perfect for a cold night."

Langdon Hall

"The grounds - which are at once, romantic as well as warm and cozy - are not purely aesthetic, but also functional for foraging. Many of the kitchen's ingredients come from the land, from vegetables to maple syrup and even captured rain water from their well. This is true localism in the finest form, and the freshness can be tasted in every bite."

"The whole North facade is floor-to-ceiling glass, giving a good view of the street and passers-by, and the West end features a vast, back-lit open concept wine rack filled with the best of Ontario wines."

CAVA

"Tucked away in Delisle Court at Yonge and St Clair is Chef/owner Chris McDonald’s cozy restaurant CAVA. This seasoned Chef makes sure his eatery has a menu boasting a fusion of flavours from various areas such as Spain, Mexico, and even Japan. With so many exotic-sounding dishes, I was excited to dig in."

George Brown

"By delicious coincidence, the school’s Marriage of Food and Wine gala took place the night we visited. With one golden gastronomic ticket you got the chance to cruise tables laden with bite-size savory treats created with a specific wine pairing in mind. The sight of a room overflowing with food filled us with Willy Wonka-like excitement."
